Cyrillic
The Cyrillic Alphabet was first commissioned by Tsar Simeon I the Great in 9th century Bulgaria. The Russian Cyrillic Alphabet was then heavily reformed during Peter the Great's modernization of Russia in the 18th century. Many of the changes made were inspired by the Latin alphabet.
The Russian Alphabet has 33 letters: 10 vowels, 21 consonants, and 2 signs.

It's also really helpful to recognize Russian cursive because people writing out Russian by hand almost always write in cursive. Below is a link to a fantastic resource that has not only the cursive letters but also sound samples.

Additionally, I've provided some samples of lines we use in the show written in Cyrillic cursive.
